So far, all I’m seeing from the comments on Kathy Hochul’s Facebook page are people who have faith enough in themselves to believe that they can do a better job than the Governor, faith in God and Jesus that they’ll be safe from the virus if they just remain ignorant enough of the information that the CDC is providing…. but not enough faith to prove either. Your faith is being tested, and if you’re not willing to do what is necessary, you have faith without works. And all Evil needs is for good men to do nothing.
“I can do all things through him who strengthens me.” – Phillipians 4:13
Where was your faith when thousands of elderly died in the nursing homes from Covid? Was all that talk about God taking the “very best” just more rhetoric? Science already said that it was a bad idea to introduce those with the virus into the community of immuno-compromised people, and we see that the numbers proved it. So you’re upset over Cuomo making that decision, but don’t question why God didn’t save them? And you’re going to rely on God to save you instead? Not everyone gets saved by God, and not everyone is treated fairly and evenly, so you need to advocate for yourself.
“Not that we dare to classify or compare ourselves with some of those who are commending themselves. But when they measure themselves by one another and compare themselves with one another, they are without understanding.” – 2 Corinthians 10:12
If Governor Hochul is so bad, who stands to run opposed to her? Where is your faith in the system to work within the system the way she is? Why not run for the NY State Assembly or Senate and challenge that power? God tells us in the Bible to mind authority and test everything.
“Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, for many false prophets have gone out into the world.” 1 John 4:1
If you’re already one foot out the door and leaving New York, because the Lord is calling you elsewhere, God’s blessings on you and your travels… but if you’re just giving up and afraid to do what is necessary, and you’re leaving because the Governor isn’t providing your ego the stroke it needs, well then good riddance to you.
“Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” 1 Corinthians 15:33
We’ve had three Presidents prepare for this pandemic… the second, Donald Trump, making the mistake of cutting off the scientists we had partnered with in China to monitor viruses remotely, then he reversed his position on the virus and because of the misinformation being generated, refused to take the CDC seriously about it. But even former President Trump recognized that the virus was an out of control problem that he didn’t understand and mandated Operation Warp Speed to produce as much Personal Protection Equipment and standards for states to follow. If you’re still in denial over it, then you’re missing the point… we’re being tested and too many are failing all because they “don’t like being told what to do”.
There’s the apple. Go ahead. Take a bite.
“F… around and find out.”
Faith Without Works Is Dead James 2:14-26
14 What does it profit, my brethren, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can faith save him? 15 If a brother or sister is naked and destitute of daily food, 16 and one of you says to them, “Depart in peace, be warmed and filled,” but you do not give them the things which are needed for the body, what does it profit? 17 Thus also faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead.
18 But someone will say, “You have faith, and I have works.” Show me your faith without your works, and I will show you my faith by my works. 19 You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble! 20 But do you want to know, O foolish man, that faith without works is dead? 21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works when he offered Isaac his son on the altar? 22 Do you see that faith was working together with his works, and by works faith was made perfect? 23 And the Scripture was fulfilled which says, “Abraham believed God, and it was accounted to him for righteousness.” And he was called the friend of God. 24 You see then that a man is justified by works, and not by faith only.
25 Likewise, was not Rahab the harlot also justified by works when she received the messengers and sent them out another way?
26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.
